Rohana is also the CEO of MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary, a position she has held since 2006. Prior to her appointment as CEO, she was the Group CFO of Astro, where she was instrumental in Astro’s listing on the then Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 2003. She was a founding member of the Astro group of companies since her joining in 1995.
Rohana is the principal architect of the company’s growth strategies and has led Astro through a multitude of industry breakthroughs and firsts. In recognition of her leadership role in championing lifelong learning and community development, she was awarded CNBC’s Asia Business Leaders Award and the Silver Stevie Award for Corporate Social Responsibility.
Previously, she was attached to the Unilever group of companies from 1985 to 1995, both in the UK and Malaysia, where she held various senior management positions and gained substantial experience in financial, marketing and business management in the multinational consumer goods business.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
