Eric is the Co-founder and Group CEO of Carsome, Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform.
Eric started his entrepreneurial journey in 2008 when he and a few college friends started a print magazine business. During his second year as an accounting student, Eric dropped out of school and joined an interactive online marketing company, Innity. He then started Clicks
Communications in 2011, an ad network and creative agency, which was eventually sold. Eric returned to Innity and continued to lead its digital advertising team and focused on improving global branding campaigns for his clients. In 2015, he was again inspired to try his entrepreneurial hand, and convinced fellow colleague Teoh Jiun Ee to launch a business
together. Realising the pain points within the used car industry, they decided to digitalise the fragmented used car market and reshape the automotive industry. Initially starting out as a car comparison platform, Eric pivoted Carsome into a car-selling platform after receiving numerous requests from their customers. In 2020, The New Way of Buying Cars was launched by Carsome, offering an online-to-offline, seamless experience for buying used
cars with quality assurance and peace of mind. Today, Carsome is Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform with operations across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. In July 2019, Eric was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur at the 88th Endeavor International Selection Panel in Tokyo, Japan.
