Gaurav has spent the last decade in the platform economy - scaling online marketplaces in SEAsia/Australia. Under his leadership, Mudah.my successfully navigated its first ‘s-curve’, re-ignited stalled growth and transformed into a sustainably profitable business. More than one-third of Malaysian adults now use Mudah.my every month. Prior to this his team was instrumental in turning around the Indonesian operation of the group from a laggard trailing at one-fourth to a heads-on challenger versus the market leader, which led to the creation of a joint venture under the OLX brand in the market. As the regional COO of the group he led the portfolio growth strategy, regional product innovation and set up the foundational architecture to scale monetisation.
Before operating online marketplaces Gaurav spent more than a decade in SE Asia/India helping craft and execute media/marketing strategies for clients across a wide range of industry sectors, including consumer goods, banking & insurance, media & entertainment, retail, tech, telcos, airlines and automotive. His team’s innovative solutions were highly appreciated by clients, rewarded with business growth and won numerous industry accolades.
