Rodney is the Chief Executive Officer of Munchy's, helming the company behind Malaysia’s No.1 biscuit brand* that has now flourished into a recognized and successful brand with presence in more than 50 countries globally. Under his leadership which covers regional and international responsibilities, he has notably steered the company to record business results since 2014 by building and strengthening the profit fundamentals across all businesses.
Since assuming the position in July 2014, he spearhead the direction and guide the strategies for sustainable business growth whilst being responsible for overall management of group operations. The company has seen significant achievements in recent years including building successful brands of Munchy’s Crackers, Lexus, Muzic, Oat Krunch, Choc-O and also the formation of a joint-venture company with a leading Europe food manufacturer resulting in the successful launch of 7 Days croissant by Munchy’s into the Malaysian market.
Through his initiatives and vision, Munchy’s has received multitude accolades including The Brand Laureate World Halal Best Brands Awards (2018), The Brand Laureate Award - Best Choice Brand in Consumer Biscuits (2016), Superbrands Status (2015), Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand; The Biscuits/Cookies Category – Gold (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), various categories in the Putra Brand Awards (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019), The Asian Export Award (2019) and World Branding Awards; Brand of The Year – Biscuits (2019-2020).
Rodney was also from Petronas Lubricant Malaysia, an arm of PETRONAS. During his tenure as General Manager, he was instrumental in leading the company in making strategic transformations of key functions including route-to-market framework, distributor network, customer service and human resource in driving towards market leadership.
Before joining Petronas Lubricant Malaysia, he was at Coca-Cola Refreshments Malaysia, where he started as Regional Sales Manager, East Malaysia and thereafter as the National Route To Market Manager, Malaysia. Throughout his tenure, Rodney was a critical member of the pioneer Coke Malaysia team for the transition of Coke business from F&NCC to Coca-Cola Refreshment Malaysia and develop the route-to-market strategies to deliver optimal cost to serve on sales, logistic and execution. Prior to that, he worked as a General Sales Manager in Unilever.
