Azarol Faizi
Bateriku
Azarol is the Founder & CEO of Bateriku.com, an on-demand battery replacement service provider.
Azarol has over 14 years of experience in the automotive battery industry, having established Astra Group, an automotive battery trading and OEM manufacturing business with clients such as Mitsubishi, Proton and Perodua.
In 2014, Azarol wanted to explore other adjacencies and saw how unhappy consumers were with the existing battery replacement process – batteries often go dead without warning, and it is inconvenient to request for on-demand battery replacement services. Azarol launched Bateriku to provide battery delivery and replacement services through a fleet of mobile technicians (MOTECs). He was able to leverage existing industry connections to import inventory and bootstrapped the business through its rapid growth over the past five years.
Today, Bateriku provides its services to all of Peninsular Malaysia through its network of 36 partners, 48 in-house and 120 freelance MOTECs (trained by Bateriku but operating independently), completing over 210K battery replacement jobs to date. Prior to founding Astra, Azarol worked for the Hyundai Corporation under their heavy industries division. He was also a Project Engineer at Unimasco, an oil & gas outfit and an Estimating Engineer at Cleveland Bridge UK-EON, a steel fabrication company.
Azarol graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. In April 2019, Azarol was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur at the 87th Endeavor International Selection Panel in Madrid, Spain.
