Mark Koay
Photobook
Mark is the Founder & Group CEO of Photobook, the largest online photo product company in South East Asia.
Photobook’s beginnings can be traced back to 2005, which saw the rise of digital photography due to the proliferation of the DSLR camera. Mark, being a photography enthusiast himself, seized the opportunity and created a platform that enabled professional and amateur photographers to create photo books. Mark and his team bought a digital press nearly the size of his living room and started producing photo books, travelling daily between his home, the bindery, and the post office to assemble and fulfil orders.
Since its humble beginnings, the Photobook Worldwide Group now has more than 90 SKUs on their platform, serves customers in more than 100 countries worldwide and has 4 global offices located in Australia, Canada, Malaysia and Philippines.
Mark currently heads the Technology, Manufacturing and the B2B segment of the business. Prior to Photobook Worldwide, Mark was Chief Operations Officer for Icon Medialab Malaysia, one of the largest internet consultancies in 1999, during the IT bubble era. His past experiences at Icon included an extensive range of skills on managing software development, management consulting and interface designs. Mark holds a BSc in Computer Science from the Leeds Metropolitan University. In April 2018, Mark and Photobook Worldwide CEO, Wee Jonn were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs in the 78th Endeavor International Selection Panel in Manila, Philippines.
