Rafiq Razali

Rafiq Razali is the Group Managing Director of Media Prima Bhd, Malaysia’s #1 integrated media company.

Since his appointment, Rafiq has successfully spearheaded the turnaround from a loss-making and low performing organisation to a leading digital media company with the largest local market share in terms of revenue and audience reach.

Among his other key achievements are delivering more than 10x revenue growth to the business and turning REV Media Group into a profitable company. He also played an instrumental role in Media Prima Group’s transformation exercise where he unified the Group’s digital strategy across all platforms and subsidiaries and project managed the Group’s entry into the B2C business via the successful home shopping arm, CJ Wow Shop.

Rafiq also completed a blockbuster RM 105 million acquisition of Rev Asia Holdings Sdn Bhd which instantly delivered a sizable young audience base to the Group which was sorely lacking before. Additionally, he was the brainchild for the Group’s Big Data strategy, where he setup a team and infrastructure from scratch to being able to deliver real time dashboards, deep audience profiles and complex AI algorithms. His achievements in the organisation culminated when REV Media Group was awarded the 2019 Digital Publisher of the Year by the Malaysian Digital Asociation.

Rafiq has comprehensive experience and a strong track record in commercialization, business development, leadership & strategy, especially in the digital space. Rafiq has also proven to be able to succeed in various work environments, from lean start ups to large complex publicly listed companies.

Rafiq is analytical and data-driven with excellent interpersonal skills, which allows him to rapidly capture and digest complex information, as evidenced by his career trajectory in various fields like telecommunications, e-commerce, fitness and media.
